Our Photography and Video Equipment

Travelling is a magical experience; for us, it is important to capture these moments to look back one day and relive those memories. People often argue that taking pictures takes away from what you are experiencing when you travel, so we always take the time to enjoy and fully take in our surroundings when shooting. We have found our photography has enhanced our travel experience through our journeys. It has made us more aware of our surroundings and allowed us to enjoy breathtaking moments. Our love for photography has led us to locations that many tourists may not venture to and miss out on a truly incredible experience.

When travelling, the last thing we wanted was to be carrying loads of equipment. We did much research and invested in the below equipment.
They all fit into our WANDRD backpack.

Canon EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera

We traded in a DSL camera for the Canon EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera, and it was the best decision we made. We love this camera. It is a compact interchangeable lens camera with a 24.1 Megapixel (APS-C) sensor, 4K UHD* 24p and HD 120p. It has Dual Pixel CMOS AF and Eye Detection AF, Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD with a flexible tilt range ideal for high-angle and low-angle shooting. With an ISO range of 100-25600 (H:51200), you can capture low noise and high detail images, even in dimly lit situations. It has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing for remote shooting using your phone or remote control.

GoPro HERO BLACK 7

Considering that we are always on the go and love to capture our memories, we looked for a durable camera that can resist all our adventures. Once we try the Gopro Hero black 7, we fell in love with it. Especially being fully waterproof and shock-resistant.

Now you can purchase the most improve Hero 9, but considering our budget; we love our 7. Hopefully, we can upgrade one day.

 Google Pixel 3 XL

We also shoot with our android phone, the Google Pixel 3 XL. The picture quality on this phone is incredible.

Who said you could not capture a professional shot on your phone. This is actually all we used when we shot in NYC. Can you believe it? It has a 12.2-megapixel camera setup at the back and has a dual 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front. Our favourite feature is its night vision option that allows you to capture amazing images even in the most dimly lit situations.

KUVRD – Original Universal Lens Cap

This silicone lens cover has been a game-changer for us. It is the only lens cover you will want to purchase. It fits 99% DSLR lenses, element proof, and the ultimate lens protection that is quick and easy to remove and cover. This cover has us to whip out our camera, ready to shoot quickly.

WANDRD PRVKE SERIES Backpack:

We cannot stress enough how important it is to invest in a good travel backpack. We purchased the WANDRD PRVKE SERIES, and it has been a game-changer for us. We needed a durable backpack, weather/water-resistant, pickpocket safe, carry our photography/video gear and provided extra space to carry a change of clothes, water bottles, sunglasses and anything else you need to lug around. A backpack that distributes the weight evenly and protects your back, so you do not feel like you are carrying a load full. This backpack did all of that, and we could not recommend it enough. We love it so much that we have written a separate blog on all its features.

Stay tuned for that blog coming soon.

DJI MAVIC MINI DRONE

We really wanted a drone, but we were waiting for one compact and that we could easily bring with us on our trips and one that we did not have to register each time we travel to a new country. This is the reason why we are so happy that DJI created the Mavic Mini. At only 249g, this drone doesn’t have to be registered in Canada as long as you never put people or aircraft in danger. DJI is launching the Mavic mini 2, but we feel that the one that doesn’t have a drone yet, we feel that the 1 is definitely more than enough.

The only thing missing that we are looking to invest in next is a dome for our GoPro.
